Here is a summary of our Nov 7, 2024 release. Our full release notes offer additional detail including feature availability. Please contact your Customer Success Managers with any questions.

New Features

Family Finding

  • The Potential Kin Online Search feature is now available for all customers. This built-in Family Finding tool, powered by Thomson Reuters Risk & Fraud Solutions, enhances child welfare work by automating and streamlining the search process. It filters large datasets to deliver the most relevant information, allowing staff to save key details with a single click and significantly reducing manual effort. With this advanced tool, social workers can spend less time sorting through reports and more time on what truly matters—building meaningful relationships with families.

  • New “Counties Assigned” and “Regions Assigned” filters for Family Finding Searches provide more precise case assignment and sorting, enhancing organization and management at the local level. To customize counties and regions for your jurisdiction, contact your CSM.

Improvements

Licensing

  • Caregivers can now proceed with their applications while awaiting reference responses, improving efficiency in the licensing process. Previously, incomplete references would prevent caregivers from moving to the next stage until all were received. Now, agencies have the flexibility to collect references earlier in the process without delaying overall progress.

  • Universal search results now include a link to the Documents page in the Actions menu, simplifying navigation to a person’s information in Binti with fewer steps.

Family Finding

  • The Potential Kin Online Search audit trail now features a toggle that allows users to show or hide Social Security numbers, providing greater flexibility and control over sensitive information visibility.

  • Connections labeled as “Not Related or Connected” now appear under the Potential Connections tab, enhancing clarity that the Relationships dashboard displays only confirmed connections.

API

  • The POST /social_connections endpoint now supports adding multiple phone numbers, aligning with Binti’s functionality that allows multiple phone numbers to be stored.

  • /GET application_forms now use form identifiers. This feature ensures that when a change is made to a form—such as new questions or answer options—agencies can clearly identify which version of the form a family is using. This will help prevent issues with data mapping and troubleshooting as form data evolves over time.

Fixes

Licensing

  • [FIX] The Intake Child page now correctly displays error notices, ensuring they remain visible for users to identify the nature of the error. Previously, error messages would briefly appear and then disappear.

  • [FIX] An error causing completed reference forms to become inaccessible has been resolved.

  • [FIX] When a caregiver application is moved from Withdrawn or Denied status back to Applying, the “Application Signed Date” field is now active. Previously, this field remained inactive, which prevented the application from being approved.

  • [FIX] The upload button on the Documents page is now hidden for agency workers who do not have permission to upload documents. Previously, the button remained visible, potentially causing confusion.

  • [FIX] When transferring a caregiver to a new application template, the correct agency forms will now appear. Previously, agency forms from the previous template would remain on the new template. This fix only applies to customers using Caregiver Documents 2.0 (CD 2.0).

Family Finding

  • [FIX] Filters on the Family Finding Searches dashboard now function as expected. Previously, certain filter combinations did not apply correctly.

  • [FIX] The “Family Finding Searches for this Child” filter button on the Child Data page now works as intended. Previously, clicking this button would redirect users to the full Family Finding Searches dashboard without applying any filters.

  • [FIX] The CSV on the Family Finding Searches dashboard now displays the correct number of contacts for each search. Previously, certain contacts were excluded from the calculation.

Platform

  • [FIX] When using Binti in Spanish, US state names now translate properly. Previously, US state names remained in English.
